(Continued from
The Top of The Page...)
Because it was usually diagnosed
in children and young adults, type 1 diabetes was previously known as
juvenile diabetes. Only about 1 in every 10 people with diabetes has
juvenile, or type 1 diabetes. Most types of diabetes occur and develop
later in life.
Genetics and exposure to
certain viruses can contribute to type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes can
develop at any age but in most cases, it is diagnosed during adolescence.
With proper treatment, people who have type 1 diabetes can expect to
live longer, more healthy lives than in the past.
Anyone who has type 1 diabetes
will need to continually monitor their blood sugar levels and be under
the careful supervision of a physician. With proper monitoring and the
introduction of insulin at appropriate times, people with type 1 diabetes
can manage to live fairly normal lives.
There is still much research
that needs to be done of type 1 diabetes but at this time, there is
no cure. Until a cure is found, anyone with this disease will just have
to learn how to live with it the best that they can. One of the things
that can be done is to make sure that you are getting the proper nutrition.
The product that is sold on this page can help in that regard.
